Overview
With more than a decade of experience in estate planning and trust and estate administration, Karen Newburg helps clients protect and preserve their legacies from initial plan design through final asset distribution. She works closely with individuals, families, and financial advisors to implement estate plans, fund trusts, and guide fiduciaries through complex administrative and financial matters with confidence and compassion.
Experience
Karen’s practice spans the full lifecycle of estate and trust matters, including drafting estate planning documents, preparing estate tax returns, managing the probate process, and facilitating estate asset valuations and property transfers. Prior to joining Aprio, she led the estate planning and administration department at a multi-location law firm in Massachusetts, where she developed deep, hands-on experience guiding clients through both planning and administration. Karen’s dedication to this work is deeply personal. After losing her father less than a year after becoming an attorney, she experienced firsthand the challenges that can arise from an incomplete or outdated estate plan. That experience continues to shape her approach, reinforcing her commitment to helping clients put thoughtful, comprehensive plans in place to protect their loved ones from unnecessary hardship.
